Ignition switch lockplate?

PostPost by: Jason1 » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:46 pm

This is for the key switch mounted in the dash.

The manual says:

"To prevent the possibility of the ignition / starter switch turning in its location, it is recommended that a lockplate be used as follows:

B. Using plate (Part No. 36 B 314), measure 1.5 in (38 mm) from the long side which contains the 'D'-shaped hole. Cut plate at this dimension. Bend the 4 corners of the plate to form small tags, these being at right angles to the plate."

:? :? :? :?

Can anyone take a photo of this lockplate as this makes no sense to me?

Tried to start my +2 today after quite a few years. Almost fitted new ignition switch but solenoid has crapped out on me.

Cheers

ignition lock plate.JPG is from an S3 (36/6292) I have seen the one that the description specs out and it is similar to ignition lock plate a.JPG with the corners bent.
