info on interior lights and exhaust bracket

Hi Folks

Couple of question regarding my rebuild of my December 1973 Elan +2S130

when stripped down i notice the interior light wer mouted in the headlining one each side just in front of the door pillars. I have seen some pictures where the interior light are more toward the rear mounted again in the head lining but more in the rear pillar close to the rear vents. Which is the correct one?

with regard to the exhaust on a car with a 4 speed Ford gearbox there is a bracket that mounted from the rear of the gear box to secure the tail pipe. Could any body who has their car stripped down photograph this bracket over a piece of squared paper so that I can make one up. ( I understand it is still available but I like do do sheet metal work myself if I can)

Thanks in advance for any help

cheers

Hi Bob,
Mine is a 1972 +2S130 & the interior lights are in the headlining either side & are about in the middle of the door aperture.
I would presume that this is the original position for them as I don't think the headlining has been changed, I've in fact just refurbed the headlining & side panels. I relined the side panels as the foam underlay had turned to powder & resprayed the whole thing with white plastic primer,it looks like a new one.
As for the exhaust bracket mine doesn't have one on the gearbox ,but I have seen one in the workshop manual
Regards
