What's the thread on the fasteners fitted to the solenoid? Is it BA? It aint UNC Thought it is but its not...
Dropped one of the nuts when I was fitting the starter cable and it just plain disappeared! Doh!!
Anyone got a spare they can eerrrr spare? Swop?

I would have guessed that they are Whitworth or BSF, w/ 55 degree threads. I was thinking that BA only does not go any larger than 1/4". On smaller threads, I do believe that some BA threads are the same as current ISO threads. Seams like I have some old English electrical fittings which happen to have had their BA fasteners replaced w/ M6 socket head set screws. It was a height issue which caused me to want to replace the original slotted screws w/ socket headed fasteners. I can always check in my Newes Engineers manual.

Thanks peeps... I have the new nut (thanks leslie) fitted and the engine turns over again. Oil pressure is up and its ready to go.
