White dust in tach

PostPost by: collins_dan » Mon Feb 07, 2011 2:41 pm

As I am replacing my dash, I wanted to replace the bezel and clean out some white dust that was inside the tach. In the process of removing the bezel, loads more white dust appeared inside the glass. Turns out that it is coming from the inside of the casing. Has anyone else had a similar issue? How hard is it to remove the casing and repaint the inside? Thanks. Dan

Not difficult if you are careful. Here is a great step by step guide:

Or get one of the professionals to do it.

Good article that.

I've wondered what it would be like if I sprayed the insides with that chroming paint that you can get now.

Might create dazzle at night from being too bright though.
