Front sidelight units

PostPost by: john.p.clegg » Thu Nov 06, 2008 7:08 pm

Just been looking at my sidelight units-changing the bulbs to LEDs-and have noticed that they are not only handed Left and Right but are the wrong way round, and have been for the last 10 years, but for the life of me cannot tell what is the difference....

Anyone?

Hi

Yes they are handed, it says LH or RH in the casting on the rear of the unit.

Why? I also have no idea. If Lotus wanted the projected light to point out from the car they could have done that by angling the fibreglass that the light unit fixes to.

I am sure there must be a good reason as why would they make 2 different moulds if one would do it? So why?? No idea.
