tach problem

I have been driving my recently restored +2. (1969 "federal" LHD).
When the engine was rebuilt a pertronix electronic ignition was added.
The tachometer will not go above approx. 1500 rpm.
Is this caused by the electronic ignition?
The tach was rebuilt by Nisonger here in the U.S..

Bob,
In my experience, Nisonger has been great for some things and not so great for others. I sent my speedometer and combo gauge to Nisonger for rebuilds and I ordered a matching ammeter from them as well. No problem.
I also sent my tach for conversion so it would work with electronic ignition. After their third attempt, I gave up and converted the tach myself. Unfortunately Nisonger was not willing to refund the money for the failed tach conversion, however I was able to retrieve it through my Visa credit card account.
