I managed to dissconnect the wiring and remove the clock from my +2 S130 by first removing the trim panel under the glove compartment and loosening the clock clamps so it would rotate. Rotating gave just sufficient access the unhook the wiring and the clamps. Replacing and reconnecting was just as much a fiddle but again rotating the clock made it possible. (most of the scars on my fingers have now healed)

That is all I did with mine, it is a Smiths but I doubt that there is much difference just make sure of the polarity is correct. I traced the problem with mine to a fault in the supply, I cannot explain it but even though I could measure full voltage the clock would not run for more than a few minutes, after cleaning all the connections from the fuse to the unit all has been OK for months.

I can explain it....you can measure a good voltage reading at the component ,say 12v, but if there is a HR (high resistance connection) somewhere in line you will not be able to draw enough current for it to work correctly......

clock not working is usually dirty electrical contacts in the electric drive mechanism. Clean the contacts and it normally works again

cheers

Hi,

Pete Mallison who frequents this site, has one on flea-bay for sale, ?8 last time I looked, might be worth asking him the condition of it through here and if its worth it, but a bid in.

Chris.
