Hi .I was pleased to get to the shim stage on my head .I got one size wrong but 7 out of 8.
Problem-- Burton Power shims = top quality. When I dropped them in the fit across the Diameter was very poor, rattling from side to side .When measured 60 thou difference to the old ones .I rang Burtons the chap was not too sure. So once again HELP PLEASE. Personaly I dont think they are correct.
Thanks Again

John,
Sorry, can't find my spares today - the garage is too full of Zetec parts, I'll look again later.
However, I can tell you that from experience, shims are common across several makes and Hillman Imp and Jaguar shims are the same diameter and can be used. There are also later BL shims (Maxi??) that are the same.
I acquired a cache of Imp shims many years ago and they are totally interchangeable.
I suspect it's because they all have a common ancestry through the Jag and Coventry Climax engine, the engineers of the later engines having a background with these excellent engines.
Mike

No, I wouldn't fit them, my opinion....too loose
0.562" equates to 9/16".....they are for some other type of engine

I'm not sure about the Jag ones Mike as I aquired a bag of shims that were suppose to be Jag and they are larger (0.687") 11/16"
.....and I've just found some in my collection that are 0.562" .....probally took them out of a T.C. at some time!
