A Lola T70 is certainly a nice car and the restoration shown looks fantastic. There was a Lola T70 competing at an Historic meeting I ran at locally a couple of weeks ago. I have a great picture of the dummy grid.
2 Lotus 7's and an Elan in a row ahead of the Lola !!! Just shows you dont need 500 hp and a million bucks to be competitive.
I have posted a couple of pictures in the Yahoo LotusElan site photos file

I must be a grumpy old man....! I thought the Lola was over the top! Why polish those catings. Worse, why paint all those lovely castings?
A lot of extra work and makes visual inspection for cracks virtually impossible.
The work does show amazing dedication, though.

Roy,
I don't think you are being grumpy at all. The point I was trying to make was that if we are to rebuild a nice old motor of any description then to do the job properly is the only way for me.
"Don't spoil the ship for a halfpenny of tar"
I tend to agree maybe the Lola is a little over the top, but what a superb job it looks in the end. You cannot knock the guys for their work.
I just hope that I can look at my Elan in the same light, when it is completed this/next year.
