Gearbox identification help.

Can anyone tell me what these gearbox casting numbers indicate: 2824E 7006C please? I don't know what type of Ford it came out of.

I think(!) it is a 2000E single-rail gearbox, It is fitted with a long ally tail housing with the gear-shifter right on the end. I'm having trouble separating the tail-housing from the box, it comes about 8mm out but then there is clearly something stopping it!

Any help and advice much appreciated.

Pete.

It's a late Mk2 Cortina or Mk1 Capri box. Could have either standard or semi close ratios.

Last time I did one of these was last century and I muddled my way through it! I' ll take a shot. I think you will need to remove or disconnect the shift rod from the forks. Also, I remember there is a large snap ring holding the MS. So good luck!
