4 speed clutch Thrust Plate

PostPost by: l10tus » Sat Nov 26, 2022 5:51 pm

I have several new clutch pressure plates suitable for the Elan Twincam installation, but none are fitted with the 4 speed specific, Thrust Plate that sits on the fingers.

Although I believe, these pressure plates would apparently be ok for use with the 4 speed box, by incorporating the (5 speed specific) round faced release bearing and extension adapter, as a "get out of jail" option.

However, in the interest of originality, is it possible to retro fit the Thrust Plate to a pressure plate, which currently doesn't have one, making it the correct fitment for the 4 speed box?

If so, can anyone advise where I could obtain a suitable Thrust Plate please??

All replies most appreciated.

I think you will find the design of the diaphram spring fingers is different and its not practical to fit a thrust plate to a pressure plate assembly designed not to have it.
