How much can I get out at once?

PostPost by: berni29 » Tue Feb 08, 2022 11:17 pm

Hi Guys

How much of the rear suspension can I get out in one go, and if not all (which looks unlikely), what is the best way to proceed? Im doing a chassis swap and want to keep things reasonably straightforwards if possible!

Im guessing undo the inboard driveshaft flanges and separate from there.

Edit, please try to ignore the total mess in the garage!

All the best

If not intending to do any work on the suspension units you can unbolt the inner end of the drive shaft, unbolt the inner ends of the A frame and unbolt the top strut lotocone and just take that removed assembly and rebolt onto the new chassis, make sure the bolts for the A frame inner ends go in the right way so they are removable with the body on.

cheers

Make sure that you fit the bolts for the upper diff mounting from below or you will have to remove the fuel tank if you want to remove the diff once the body is mounted..

It's a good idea to fit new Frustacone mounts to top of Diff and also Diff Brace.
The Diff Brace is to support Diff Ears and strengthen them.

Hi Brian and Alan

Thank you for the helpful suggestion. The diff bolts had been dropped in from the top, so they will NOT be going back in that way haha.

The Frustacone mounts are new I think but I will double check.

Thanks again
