Are you waiting for a Voigts 5 speed?

PostPost by: 1owner69Elan » Tue Nov 05, 2019 7:01 am

I was wondering how big the Voigts 5 speed queue might be and how long you may have been waiting.

I am at 11 months and counting.

How about you?

Has anyone received one recently?

I am in correspondence with another Lotus owner in California.

He has experienced poor and difficult communications.

He has just cancelled his T9 order with Alan Voigts after waiting for 2 years.

I sent them a letter in mid-September to get on their waiting list. I was told they would get back to me around Christmas/New Years to finalize the order (i.e., at that point they would want a deposit).

I got mine earlier this year. I was told it would be 6 months but in the end it was about 18 months. Communications is not there strong point but you just have to call them every 6 weeks or so to get an update. They don't use email.

Is it in the car yet? Any impressions?

I just called and talked to Alan. He says I'm sixth on the list, and expects to get to mine by the end of November. We'll see....

If you are sixth on the list, did you place your order in September ? Just a few months back?

Yes it?s in the car but not operating yet, still in rebuild phase. It?s well engineered and every thing looks to be excellent. No complaints.
Beware if you collect yours as you could be there for a long time. They can talk! But very friendly and helpful.

Yes, I called them on the 12th, mailed a letter the same day.
