Can anyone tell me what this is, it was in the box of Lotus bits when I bought the car (dismantled) and I?ve not come across a home for it. It has a 7 cm diameter

Looks like clutch release bearing/carrier

Yes, that?s what I thought but it must be a ?spare one? as there was one attached to the release fork on the gearbox. It?s also a different pattern so I presume it somehow just got chucked into the box of bits. I was just a bit concerned it was something else.
