Gearbox I.D. ?

PostPost by: l10tus » Sun May 17, 2015 1:14 pm

Believed to be an Elan or Plus 2 four speed gearbox.

I obtained it recently as a spare.

Can anyone identify it by the I.D numbers on the tag attached in the photo?

Ideally to confirm which model it came from or was used on, and what the ratios are / likely to be?

All help appreciated.

Regards,

Phil.

Ok, perhaps the question is a little difficult - try this one - can anyone confirm what numbers are on their gearbox ?

Or reference it in any way ??

I think 2 H 17 is the date code. 2 = 72 H= August 17= day of the month, so August 17, 1972 is when it
was built.

This is the typical Ford numbering scheme.
