Using shims on rotoflex bolts?

When i disassembled my car i found some rotoflex blots with shims an some without. The parts manual shows no shims so the questions is what is recommended?

Sometimes the "legs" of the drives dont line up with each other and I have heard of people fitting shims but I just put the coupling in the lathe and trim them up.

for me the outer drive shaft lugs where the brake disk locate need machining. The previous owner had a problem with brake disk run out and could not be bothered to remove drive shaft and do the rectification correctly. He did a bodge job.
First imho put a DTI to measure run out of lugs or fit brake disk temporary with short screws and measure run out before dismantle.

I am that DPO,my disc ran out of true and as my lathe isn't big enough to accept the driveshaft I shimmed the three bolts to true up the disc....works a treat...will remedy when time permits...
