Gearbox and diff oil

PostPost by: Apx » Fri Jun 13, 2014 11:07 am

I need to change said oils and and curious as to which is best, that would be obtainable in the UK. They are for a S4 ?lan and a +2 130 both with the 4 speed gearbox
. Both vehicles are used for fast road driving ( cameras allowing!)

Hi Neal,
I have filled my diff with regular EP80 but will fill my gearbox with Redline MTL.
There are many posts on this forum regarding this with varying opinions, but Redline in the gearbox seems to be a good choice. One Quart bottle should be enough to do it.

If you want the best use Redline oils in both - not cheap but the best

MTL in gearbox
Redline GL-5 gear oil in diff

cheers

Thanks for that guys, I've checked and its not overly expensive ? 16 for each approx, so redline it is.

Quick update. Redline used on the plus 2 and am pleased with the results, the gear change is better and i think is worth the extra money. I put it in the ?lan yesterday. I will put Redline in the diffs at the end of the season with the yearly oil change. Thanks again for the advice.
