Do you need to use a gasket sealer on the gearbox input shaft housing to gearbox gasket?

I do by default - just a little (edit a tiny tiny bit - almost none), and torque in stages to let it spread out - my gearboxes don't leak. You probably don't need to, but if it does week you are stuck.
Don't forget to put some on the gearbox screws.
