shakedown successful

howdy all of you easter rabbit lovers! i just got back from my ride and NOW my butt can really feel
the rear end: and i havent really cornered properly! so: easter mission completed - have a nice
week sandy j. i added the right completed corner

I dont see any locking wire on the caliper securing bolts, did you fit some later or did you use a locking compound on the threads instead of wire?

hi brian - there still are te drilled holes HOWEVER once tightened properly (adequate torque
has been applied - it?s in my hand (about 70NM?) because i?ve done this at least 10 times in the
past 30 years (got the car running in 1981) --- i?m constantly "scrutineering" the car and my eys
and ears miss nothing - cheers sandy :)

Sandy,
Not wishing to be alarmist but have you got the hubs on the correct side?
It may be that you have repainted them the wrong colour but the red hubs (left hand thread) go on the left side of the car,
The green coloured hubs ( right hand thread) go on the right.
Left and right as seen sitting in the car. But I suspect you already know that as your picture is of the right hand side as you have stated.

+1 for what Mick said.

The manual is very particular about this and Lotus went to the extent of painting them red and green - This is oposite to the convention for splined hubs!
