trans removal +2 w/spyder

I may have to remove my transmission on my +2 . It has a Spyder chassis.

Can the trans be removed without removing the engine?

No Sir. You will need to remove the engine. Or you could remove the engine and box together. never done this on a car with the spaceframe type spider chassis but have done a few times with the Spyder Lotus copy with the tube type front X member. Not difficult at all.

Probably quicker too. Check to see what else needs doing whilst it is out.

Good luck with the job.

Bob, this post might be helpful. Mine is a Spyder space frame with an MT75, so a bit different than stock four speed. It was the first time I had done it, so made up a bit of a summary.

I did the job by myself. Biggest difficulty was putting it back in and avoiding the body at the front of the engine bay.

Definitely pull the engine and transmission together.
