I think you're talking about this. Hopefully there's enough resolution that you can see the dimensions on the square. Let me know if you need more photos.

I had these on both my S3SE and S4SE both on left had side, the S2SE did not have it i suspect due to the different floor moulding with battery locations behind seats of S1&2 models. The S2 coupe my have had later floor pan moulding. Can an owner if S2 coupe confirm battery location please.

V,
I have an early pre-airflo FHC, made during the period while S2 roadster production was still going. These cars were initially called S2 coupes. They have the battery location in the boot on the same shelf in the left wing that all the later cars do.

Roger,
Sorry for the drift away from original subject but what month of manufacture is your pre-airflow. Mine is Feb 1966 so not sure if that makes it a S2 Coupe, S3 Coupe or probably just 'Coupe' which is what it's badged as. When did S2 production end ?

I have a pre-airflow Coupe # 5192 that I took delivery of on Feb 1966 The next winter I was driving with some wet snow on the ground & heard a loud "woump". Got out & found a large piece of fiberglass packed with snow. So this coupe (S3 ?) came with the differential vent. Next time I go under her I'll try to take a picture of what remains. Right now we are hunkering down for arrival of Sandy.

Thanks Weldon, I have to take a closer look to see if there are any witness marks (rivet holes?) to see if these cars ever had one. If not, yet another project lol.

My 69 S4 SE never had one from new. I bought the car as a kit & built it myself so I know it wasn't with the car. Maybe it was left off the truck at the factory.
