Yes 1960's Ford UK

The 3.55 is unique to Lotus I think but is directly interchangeable with the Ford 3.54

Other commonly used ratios are 3.99 (I think) mainly on early Elans and the very common 3.77

They appear regularly on Ebay UK .....not sure about your part of the world Ed?

thanks for the info ---my tach matches my speedo -----7000 rpm is 70 mph not so good for the highway ok for Mosport -- great for a 1 mile short track--so I figured it has around 411 gears ..so a 3 to something will suit every day puttering with the close ratio gear box ..I tried my local Anglia dealer and they seem to have closed for the day   .ed

Found this on the net a while ago apparently from the Ford Manual.
Not sure about the Lotus 3.55 though.

I believe 3.55 was 32 / 9.
