Stuck gearbox mount

PostPost by: John Sharples » Fri Jun 18, 2010 5:59 pm

I an attempting to change the gearbox mount on my Sprint. Its front wheels on ramps so access is limited. The bolt scame away easily enough but the mount itself seems to be ?welded? to the gearbox by virtue of time. It won?t budge. Anyone else had the same problem and, if so, how did you get it off?

there are from memory 4 bolts into the frame and one on the bracket to the mount. If all are out just use the "magic mallet" its just tight...

cheers

I?ll go down to Halfords for a ?magic mallet? but the part that is stuck is the rubber mount that bolts to the gearbox ? so, not enough room to get a swipe in. I am leaving it to respond to a liberal application of penetrating oil. Here?s hoping,
