5th gear gone...

I was on a track day yesterday, 3 times 15 minutes drives. Great fun all though it was a bit lively on the standard 155 road tires.
But when I went home I couldn?t select 5th gear on my Lotus 5-speed ?box. The gearlever can be pushed all the way to the right but not forward into 5th. There are no strange sounds and the other gears are fine. I hadn't used 5th gear on the track.
Has anybody got any ideas to what is wrong, broken 5th gear synchromesh or?

It could ??? be as simple as the centre console having slipped backwards slightly, baulking the lever in the console hole when the gearlever is pushed forwards.

Reverse is fine, lever can just move forward into reverse.

Yes know them well, they have helped me out many times before, just need to bake a cake and start up the espresso machine first.
