Heater deflector / diffuser

Does anyone know if all Plus 2's were fitted with the fibreglass deflector at the bottom of the heater unit? Mine does not have on ('68 Plus 2 50/0864) and the manual says "deflector (if fitted)..." so I suspect the answer is no.
Does anyone know where I might purchase one? The usual suspects don't do it so I guess I am looking for one from another owner.
Thanks.

Hi. I have my heater exposed still so could send you a pic of what's missing - I'm at work at the moment so this evening. I managed to get some obscure parts by looking for people that are breaking +2s on ebay, and mailing them to see if they happen to have the part that I want.
All the best.
Sean.

I have a couple of heaters that I am going to try to combine into one good one for my car. They all have the ducts on them so I will have a spare duct at some point.
When it warms up a bit and I venture into the garage again I could remove one and you could have that if you want, if there is no immediate rush for the next few days.
Cheers,
Simon

I have just removed an entire heater from my 71 plus 2 and it has the fan and diffuser as well as the defroster vents. It worked well until I went to remove it and the inlet and outlet pipes came off with the hoses when I put too much leverage on it trying to get it loose. They could easily be resoldered. I had planned to sell it as a unit on ebay but let me know if it interests you and if so what you would pay for it if it met your requirements. Not trying to get rich, just trying to stay even. -Andy

My car (50/0328) did not have the deflector (no fitting holes on the heater). I have now fitted one as the old system was really good at heating the dashboard! I guess they were introduced as Stugi has pointed out. Yet another 'non original' feature on my car to bring its value down...
