Hi Al,
'fraid not. Some colours seem rarer than others, I'm after a black one. Try your local gearbox rebuilder or Ford specialist. I tried a few and one said come round and sort through his box of speedo gears... no luck tho'. Got a Type9 one from a Caterham parts man in the end, sort of worked until I fixed the black'n.
Good luck
Paul
PS still looking for a blacky

Paul, how did you get the Type 9 one to work? Isn't it a smaller diameter gear?
Alasdair, En-Fo means Fo-rd. A black one (23 teeth) goes with a 3.55 diff, a green one (24 teeth) with a 3.77 diff, and a blue one (25 teeth) with a 3.9 diff.

Sounds cheap! Do you have a location & contact details for this place please?
If you don't already know why the old one stripped, it would be worth checking the rest of the components 'down the line' to make sure it doesn't happen again - i.e. right-angle drive, cable, & speedometer. These things usually fail for a reason...

Matthew,
er... I am of course assuming (probably now wrongly) that the one i had was a Type 9 speedo gear. It came with a Type9 gearbox I once had. They seemed very similar, the main difference was a smaller square hole where the right angle drive went into it, and was completely plastic instead of the metal end of the one that came out of the car....I am now assuming that one is correct!
Al,
thanks for the Sue Miller tip.
PS. Dave Bean also lists a natural colour-22 teeth gear for 3:55 with big tyres
