Diff output shafts - the offending item

Here is a photo of the broken shaft which I have finally extracted. It looks like it has been on the way out for some time. The other one looks perfect but I shall replace both with uprated shafts.

They look like the early ones with the narrow shaft... whilst your paying the money I would go the extra bit and get the TT steel billet ones. Nice clean break though, was there any remnants in the diff housing?

Hopefully no bits were left in the housing. I think I have some used uprated shafts coming, I wouldn't consider fitting anything else. I don't want this happening again, it was embarassing coasting onto the verge and watching all the people I had overtaken over the last fifty miles driving past!
