Heavy clutch, short pedal travel

PostPost by: rgh0 » Thu Feb 28, 2019 9:28 am

There are a number of the 5 speed clutch pressure plates made as it was a generic clutch pressure plate and some seem to be heavier than others. I don't know the specs of the original 5 speed but most of the current ones appear to be heavier than needed.

cheers

Re-Pedal Shaft
No, It is all shiny and new looking as though it has been replaced sometime in the recent past which makes me slightly suspicious if the pedal travel, at the actual pedal, is correct.

Re-Pressure plate.
I have a 4speed 130S. But it is not beyond the realms of probabilty that it has the wrong pressure plate ( 5 speed?) fitted I suppose.

Thanks all for the input.

Alan.

Alan, quick update on my car - I replaced the clutch pipe with a braided line and the stickiness is gone. The clutch feels much better now. I'd encourage you to try this first, it only takes a couple of hours of swearing under the car to fit.
