Vibration with solid driveshafts - solved

This is not a query but information for anyone curious.
When I had my S3 Elan rebuilt I retained the donuts, but discussions with my local Elan guru persuaded me to change to TTR sold ones. Immediately I noticed a worrying speed dependant vibration. Of course I thought it was something serious, but happily it turned out to be slightly out of balance rear wheels. It seems that the donuts absorb these vibrations and so when you "go solid" they become apparent.
