Thoughts on filling the gearbox.

I am currently in the process of replenishing gearbox oil from below. My understanding is that you refill with car level to the point at which the oil level is such that it drips from the fill port.
The manual states that gearbox capacity is 0.99 litre. I have now reached approx 1.3 litre and it’s still not reached the level of the fill port.
I have had a good look and there’s no mess on the garage floor elsewhere :D
I am about to break out the inspection camera to see where the level is.
Should I continue filling or stop here?

I do not know what manual you are looking in, but 1 litre, or just over a pint is not correct. Must be nearer 2 pints. Just keep filling until it comes out of the fill plug.

Sounds like you are doing everything right.
I can't recall the exact amount, probably never knew it, but it's about one and a third, litre containers, so you must be close.

Hi Leslie,
keep filling was my first thought but having emptied the second syringe over the quoted figure I hesitated.
My workshop manual was supplied by Mike Spence ( Shinfield, Reading) way back in the mid 1980s
I have previously found quoted capacity figures differ from actuality.
