Diff drive shaft bearing

In the Lotus Elan Service Parts List it lists two inboard drive shaft bearings. Under RB.40 it lists 036 D 6001 and under RB.41 it lists 036 D 6017. Only one drive shaft bearing appears on the drawing. Is 6001 an earlier bearing? 6017 is the same bearing as the rear hub outer bearing, listed under DA.6 036 D 6017, but in the diagram for the differential 6017 bearing appears to have an O-ring seal. Is this also out of date, i.e. are these two bearings the same. Just checking before rebuilding the differential case.

In the parts book RB40 is the drive shaft and RB41 is the bearing. I've not seen or used a bearing with an O ring on the outer but it is a 2RS bearing, I can't remember the number. It is a common size.

Thanks for the reply. I had a look on the Kelsport website and it confirms that the rear hub outer and drive shaft outer bearings are identical...no.6206.
