I recently bled for the first time the clutch on my current plus 2 and found that it moved on application of the pedal.
I think the cover plate at the rear of the motor is supposed to locate with a flat section on the original slave cylinder but common replacements seem to be differently profiled.
The movement was unlikely to be beneficial and so I fabricated from 2mm aluminium a small plate to attach between the hole in the flange of the slave cylinder and the bell housing bolt immediately above it.
Seems to solve the problem. I shall attach a couple of photos.

Nice solution to the 'other', 'needed' circlip on slave, to keep the fore / aft movement to a minimum.
