Gear lever bush s4

Having just had my gear lever chromed can anybody give me the measurement the bush has to be pressed in thanks

I don't have a precise measurement but you need to ensure that the thick steel spacer/washers that go above and below the bush are both within the housing when it's assembled so that probably puts the bush more or less central in the housing. Also, depending how thick your new chrome plating is, you may need to reduce the diameter of the spacers a little to maintain the minimum clearance there should be between spacers and housing - if they are in contact obviously the bush won't have any effect but if the clearance is too large the shift will feel spongy and imprecise.
