Anyone recognize this part?

I recently bought some used Elan parts and two of these adapter plates were in the lot.
Does anyone recognize them? The three threaded holes with the bolts in them appear to be the same pattern as an Elan rear stub axle and the other four holes are drilled in a rectangular pattern with one pair on 2 in. centers and the other pair on 2-3/8 in. centers. From what I can tell they are for adapting universal joint sliding drive axle shafts onto a standard triple eared stub axle and/or a standard differential output shaft. Please let me know if this is correct.

Thanks guys. Seeing as these adapter plates are for universal joint half shafts and my Elan is already fitted with CV joint shafts I will not need them, so I will post them in the Parts for Sale section.

Could they be hub pullers?
There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

Exactly my first impression. The Europa's full of French bits, so why shouldn't your Elan be?

They look like the adapters that Lotus used to fit Lotus Cortina steel rims to the 6 lug rear hubs from Lotus 22-23 rear hubs on Lotus 31-51 & 61s. Early Formula Fords had to use steel wheels.
