1970 ?lan plus 2

I am just about to start a restore of my recently purchased ?lan. Lots of parts are missing ie engine,gearbox,diff.plus many internal parts. My thoughts is to go with a black top zetec 2l with mt75 gearbox and sierra different 3.92. Can anyone give me any info on this or correct my thoughts. I have done a mk1 escort zetec with parts from retro ford. My ?lan has a galvanised chassis
