Trans Circlip 7059B

I am looking for a source for this Circlip / Snap ring on the Mainshaft of the Elan 4 spd Close Ratio trans. I have been told by several U.S. suppliers that this Retainer ring is NLA and so far no one has found a generic replacement. One of the U.S. shops did say that he is working to find this item from UK sources, but there have been no positive replies yet.

I believe that the original Lotus P.N. is 103E 7059B, and the part has apparently been obsoleted by Ford with no supercession replacement.

I have been advised that the original could be re-used, but I have little confidence that I can remove this one undamaged, and I always prefer to replace items such as this if possible.

Any info on this item, including correct dimensions, will be much appreciated.
