Diff Rebuild

I have been thinking about having my diff rebuilt.
Tony Thompson offers an LSD for about ?350, I guess a rebuild will cost close to that so would it make more sense to buy a LSD, i.e would it fit straight in ,cost no more and be like a new diff??

The ?350 Tony Thompson LSD only replaces the differential cage on a standard diff. You have to fit the crown wheel and bearings and assemble it into the diff housing. So, basically, you still have to pay for a full rebuild and then pay for the LSD. A complete LSD assembly from TT costs about ?1500.
