New pair of speedblades on Ebay = Item number: 350122920162

These are ?80 a pair :o I think I paid about ?30 for mine secondhand. This seems very expensive, does anyone know if Trico still make them??

As far as I know they are unobtainable. I got some off the Bay for about ?30 too, a few years ago now. There were several classics that used them as original kit so I imagine that pushes up demand too.

Price is a bit on the optimistic side, I bought mine of eBay a couple of weeks ago for a barging price of ?31.

Gents

About 10 years back whilst trimmig out the restro of 26/0538 I failed in my search for replacements. I had removed the passenger side assembly many years back - it was a nuisance - always kind of hung out from the far side glazing; and besides when removed helped add to the passengers white knuckle thrill in the rain, specially at nite.

Besides I didn,t need it and the adding of lightness by its removal improved performance of the drivers side wiper.

It got lost over about 30 years storage and the drivers side was deteriorated badly, all searches of auto suppliers yielded nothing or junk.

I found replacement blades and arms in a marine chandlery - as close to the origional as damned is to swearing (10 years back). Stainless steel at that!

Sorry I can't remember the manufacturer but I will advise if someone needs the info.

With a 50 year old historic wood boat (the other hobby) I am in there weekly.

Does anyone know if rather than replacing the whole thing can you just get the rubbers. The metal part on mine is still as new but the rubber has split. Seems a shame to replace if you can get just the rubber and fit that.

Yes you can get replacement rubber for the Tricos. If I recall correctly, I got mine from a Triumph Stag specialist, but am not able to look up who they were right now.
