Has anyone installed new (different) interior lights?

Thinking of, instead of finding replica bits for these items, simply using something current that would be appropriate in size, style. I'm doing a ground-up total redo, so now's the time.
Mine were Cortina bits I beleive and I don't see a lot of availability here. Something diff would be fine with me.
So - any ideas, recommendations?
Thanks
Keith

Keith,
Though I have a "regular size" Elan, I did make some interior lighting improvements.
I didn't care much for the interior light on the dash shining in my eyes when I needed to read a map, so I added a dome light I yanked from a '90-'94 Mazda Protege that had a sunroof. This dome light is different than the ones in cars without the sunroof as it is 3-3/4" X 4". As I have a DHC, I mounted it as high as possible on the bulkhead behind the seats. Of course, because it is a modern light, it has a three position switch. Both lights come on when I open the door or I can set it so only the original light comes on. Once the door is closed, I can turn on both with the original panel switch or I can turn on either of them independently.
While I was at it, I installed a glove box light from a Mitsubishi Eclipse and a boot light from a Honda Accord.
Now my car feels like I'm living in the 80s!

Well, I'm building a 2007 Plus 2 (thanks to Spyder) so moving up to the 80s may be a step back
You gave me the obvious answer - wander around some car lots to find viable alternatives.
Thanks

Keith, have you read the post from a few days ago with the title "license plates and interior lights - what are they from"
I posted a photo of an interior light from a VW beetle which is a close match from the Plus 2 S130s. For that model of Plus 2s, the interior courtesy lights were mounted as per most cars above the doors. There should also have been a glovebox interior light (Triumph part still available and same as early Plus 2 engine bay lights) plus a map reading light.
Regards
Gerry
