Gearleaver Baffle removal/replacement

Has anyone ever removed their gear leaver baffle? It seems to be glued/bonded to the chrome plastic surround. I guess I can cut it out with a razor but am a bit hesitant to do so as I?m not sure how readily available replacements are. Any suggestions?
Also what car are the rear brake pads off?
cheers

If by baffle you mean the rubber gaitor around the base of the gear stick then it is held in by the chrome plate which is bolted through the centre console.
To remove it you will need to remove the center console then unbolt the retaining plate, the rubber gaitor can then be seperated from the plate.
At least thats how it is on my 68 plus2.
Cheers
