Lotus Badges

Greetings from New Zealand, I am the proud owner of an Elan Sprint painted in the gold leaf colours, but we do have a question about the badges on the car.
They are black instead of the usual green and yellow, this includes the horn button, knockon wheelnuts and bonnet. I have been told that Lotus produced a number of vehicles like this as a mark of respect to the late Jim Clark.
Does anyone out there in Lotus land know if this is correct?

Hello, I looked for that post but could not find it. The black nose badge is correct. I'm not sure about the wheel nuts and bonnet. maybe someone's personal expression. Elan S1 models had black horn buttons I think.... then later they went green and yellow...then back to black, maybe? Someone out there knows for sure....

As someone who can clearly remember the tragic day that Jim Clark was killed, (I was competing in a sprint run by East Ayrshire Car Club in Dalmelington, Scotland) I can remember the black badges being introduced shortly afterwards as a mark of respect for Clark. They turned back to Yellow & Green a few years later.
I have a Nov 1973 Elan +2 S130 which has a black nose badge, black coat hook badges and horn press. Someone nicked my nose badge, so, when I went to replace it Club Lotus advised that black badges were correct for the year of my car.
Hope this helps,
Hamish.
