Order of re-assembly

Hello gents,
I recently retrieved my beloved S3 SS Elan from a restoration shop. Unfortunately the restoration has been stalled for several years. I want to finish my Elan and enjoy it on the road before I'm dead.
Normally "Re-assembly is the reverse of disassembly". Unfortunately, I was not witness to the process.
The chassis is completely assembled, body on the chassis. The interior, boot, engine bay need to be completed. The doors are off so assembly of the interior will be much easier.
The engine is in the car, but coming back out so it can be commissioned, broken in and tuned on a dyno. That will actually make it easier to install the engine bay wiring, control cables and heater hoses, etc.
I'm looking for the steps to reassemble the rest of the car. The wiring harness, instrument panel and most everything else are in boxes. I dislike "do-overs" when I realize something else had to be installed first and I have to remove what I just installed.
I have several boxes of parts from the restorer and I'm learning what I have and slowly realizing what I don't have. I'm making a list.
I do have a parts book, the shop manual and Brian Buckland's book.
Your sage advice is most appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Sorry to hear of your frustrations, I feel ‘some of’ your pain.
There must be a few in your neighbourhood that can help?
Brakes, fuel, hardlines, extra grounds, lotocones.
Once the engine, transmission and diff etc are good.
Sure its a long list.

Born, and brought home from the hospital (no seat belt (wtf)) in a baby!

Hey Dan,
I’m just up the road from you, so if you need an extra set of hands for anything let me know. My kids have all gotten to have a seat in your 23B over at sears point.
My coupe has been largely taken apart over the last year and a half by me, so I might recall how a few things go together.

Hello Brian,
Thanks so much for your kind offer. I may ask for help on things like hanging and aligning the doors...
