Front wheel Arches

PostPost by: street » Thu Nov 16, 2023 9:37 pm

Photos of your cars please!

As part of my NZ compliance woes, they have indicated their concern on inner front wheel arch (both sides) connecting with upper section. I will upload photo later.

I think its the join line from inner wheel arch light pod, to upper section of wing.

Great if I can assemble number of photos to demonstrate its factory.

thank you

You must have an S1 or S2? Those had especially crappy looking joins between the upper and lower main moldings. Looked like a few loosely draped layers of GRP. S3's and 4's are better, but still a bit slap dash. Amazing that the NZ Government would even look at this, given the fundamental and absolute non passive safety that is part and parcel of every early Lotus. It's been a few years since I've seen them, but in one of the many Lotus books out there photos exist of early Elans going together, with the main body upside down and wheel arch joins visible.

Here's something I just found, but not sure it gives you what you need.
