Wondering please, if anyone knows if any of the shock towers or any of the angles are different between the two?
Length and width are of course, anything else please?
Kind Regards

After much research I grafted a +2 front half of the frame onto Elan 1600 rear half. I cut all of the factory welds and pulled the front off. The fronts are exactly the same. the rear of the +2 is longer in the tunnel and wider across the strut towers. I made a transfer jig on the top and bottom of the original frame and bolted the new front into the jig and rewelded at the original weld areas. Has worked well, Drives straight. I would post some pictures of the transfer jig but I have not moved them to new computer. Top jig bolts to rear upper strut tower mounts, instrument panel holes in frame just in front of the shifter and front shock tower holes on the top and on the bottom to the body mounts behind diff and front mounts in front of vacuum tank. Also some body mount holes on the flange along the bottom body bolted up easily. I did have to replace the solid threaded holes on the front turrets with new pieces to fit and match the drilling in the body. I was a dentist before I retired and we used transfer jigs for implants and precision partial dentures. Same idea, just a larger scale. Gary

I have made a 3d image with measurements.
My hope is to be able to use the jig to reinforce original or change a section on either Elan or +2.
To clarify, the Duratec for Left Hand Drive is better as the exhaust is on the passenger side, and that it is a fantastic engine well suited. Caterham has been using it in the 7, since 2002.
There are a few Elan's out there with the Duratec, but nothing has been easy for installation.
