Are Plus2 and S3 Elan window frames the same dimensions?

I have an S3 Elan and I've fitted new silent channel rubber along with new felt strips, but...

The new felt strips, as supplied, were too long for the window frame and had to have about 5 1/2 inches (~14cm) cut off of them to fit.

Also, the new silent channel rubber window run is very, very tight and pinches the glass so much that the motor has a hard time raising the window and squeals like a banshee!

I've tried liberal amounts of silicon lube which helped some, but the widow still is very hard to raise.

I was wondering if there was a difference between Plus2 and 'Baby' Elans with respect to their window frames.
Is it possible that I was sent Plus2 components instead of S3 style rubbers etc?

I would guess that the window channels are stocked to whatever length will cover all models, then are cut to fit the actual use.

And, no the s3 and the +2 models are not the same.
