Boot brace bar

Early Plus 2. The boot brace bar has fibreglass moulded around it (poorly) and just want to confirm that it's not factory?
The fibreglass looks newish and the parts manual shows it as a separate item.
Brace is shown by arrows and the fibreglass with the circle.

I don't know if its me but I have trouble interpreting your photos. However what I can tell you is the neither of the tubes that are in my '68 +2 boot that might be described as 'brace bars' are bonded in like yours.
I am the second owner of the car having owned it since it was 8 years old. I don't think the first owner messed about with the car so on that basis I think my car is reasonably original . However , this assumption has been 'corrected' on this forum in the past.

I'll need to work on my camera skills I guess. Haha. The photo was taken with the camera facing upwards from the boot floor.

Thanks for the info, I'll look at maybe removing the extra fibreglass and using some sort of padding for any required support. I may look at replacing the brace as well.
