I am planning a new interior for my '72 +2. The car has the original black interior and is in very servicable condition. I would like to change the color to a lighter interior. Looking on the internet I see Christopher Neil has an "OATMEAL" interior set. Were there any colors, other than black, available originally for the +2? No mention of different interiors in Robinshaw's or Lund's books other than custom work. I will look through the archives for more info. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Not sure on what was standard but other options must be availble from trimmers as my own +2 has a deep burgandy + black interior. (carpeting, etc all in a deep burgandy). The car is a unusual metalflake burgandy or wine colour. Looks really good.
No idea if it was a custom job or off the shelf as the previous but one owner had restored it.

As far as I am aware, the +2 was only ever factory fitted with a black or oatmeal interior. Oatmeal was the norm for the +2S 130/5.
The baby Elan was always factory fitted with a balck interior, with the exception of 24 S3's, which were fitted with a red interior.

In Robinshaw / Ross's book there are pictures of a few Plus 2 S130's in the Oatmeal colour scheme. Unfortunately B/W!
The Plus 2 was available with either Black or Oatmeal and also with or without a cloth insert in the centre squab. Carpets were in the same colour as the seats.
As far as I Know the original Oatmeal carpet colour is no longer available and hard to match, so the trim kits sold are an approximation of this colour. Not sure if you could get a carpet specialist to come up with a more 'original' looking set....

I have just redone my interior in oatmeal from Christopher Neil, thats the front seats, the doors and all carpet, looks good, covering the seats was the biggest pain in the butt ever, even worse than single handed body/chassis split....

Laika,
Would you have a sampling of the leftover oatmeal carpet and vinyl you could drop in the mail for me. Did You do your seats in leather?
I have contacted Neil by email and have had no response for samples of their carpeting and vinyl from 2 emails whatsoever! I can email you my address.
Thanks!
