Heater and Choke Cable Position in Bulkhead Elan S4

I am getting close to installing my dashboard and have just realised there are no holes in the bulkhead for the choke and heater cables, presumably the body shop filled them in before painting. Does anyone have photos drawings or dimensions of where the holes should be? I would also like to check if my existing cables are the correct length as taking the dash out to change them is not minor work. Does anyone know how long the cables should be?

I doubt that the firewall holes were precisely placed, They just seem to be in line with the shortest distance between the Choke-control and the top of the carbs, and the heater-control and the heater water-valve.
The choke cable is standard bowden cable, like bicycle brakes with a 'woven' flexible core, but the heater-cable has a piano-wire one-piece core, because it needs to both pull AND push the water-valve.

Hi Richard,

As Bill has said, as straight as possible routes to the valve and the carbs is all that really matters. If the holes need redrilling you have the opportunity to get them spot on.
If you can remove the radio, or radio blanking plate, you should be able to access the cables without disturbing the dash.
