Plus 2 secondary door seals

I've ordered some new ones but as their edges are not alike and the old ones are rotten beyond recognition, does anybody know which way these are supposed to go?

My car has never been fitted with any door secondary weather seals. I don't believe they were ever fitted by the factory from new.
I suspect that they maybe were an aftersales dealer fitment when the customer complained that his/her car leaked in rain!
I never take my car out in rain so with the car now 50+years old I guess I won't bother fitting any now
Alan.

Interesting. My car's first owner picked it up at the factory, registered it in and drove around England for a few months, then took the car home to the Gulf coast of Florida where he drove it daily for ten years, so rain was a distinct possibility!

They were fitted at the Factory as far as i know. On the +2 thicker than on Elan.

Well..Apologies. It seems I am wrong and you are correct! It does indeed show a secondary seal now that I have found that page. Early +2 interior though, if that makes any difference.
I wonder though why my car has no evidence of ever having had that seal fitted?...No holes,or old rivets, nothing!

here's a link to an old post. Page down to the pic & text I posted. The seal is not pretty but did work.
