S3 bonnet cable

Hi all,
Is there supposed to be a washer between the bulkhead and nut? There wasn't one there (I think)
when I removed the cables.

Yes, all my S3's have had a washer there.
Current :- Elan S3 DHC SE S/S 1968,
1963 Alfa Giulia Ti Super Rep.
